Hey guys i read the thread about seafoam already, and it seemed almost everyone had positive results. My car is quickly apporaching 40k miles so i was thinking of using it soon. has anyone had any negative experiances with it? thanks.

I've never done it and I never will. I think it's snake oil. What's everyone's sudden fascination about cleaning the inside of their engine?

I've used it because I was getting pinging with my timing advanced. It fixed that up right away. Lot's off smoke so be ready for that.
A friend of mine has an older (94 GT) Mustang. His was losing oil and pinging under normal driving conditions. after using it he isn't losing nearly as much oil and the pinging is reduced. He is going to continue to us it as he changes his oil. He doesn't want to use a whole bunch at once since his car has 180K already. It has done what he wanted.
Others at work have used it on their cars and not had any problems either, so I think it is pretty safe. The thing to look out for is if you have an oil leak that is plugged by sludge, the seafoam will remove it and you will leak oil again. Also make sure to change your oil after you use it, bout 200 miles, or a full tank of gas.
