being as our rear seats are basically useless i was planning on getting a rear seat delete kit or making my own....

how bad does the road noise pickup after you make a delete kit? is it REALLY that much louder?

what material do you use to make one?

also i have another question concerning exhaust i plan on getting a Dr. Gas X-pipe and 40 series flows... do i just use my stock exhaust tips? or do i need some other ones?

As for the seat delete, I can't really say a who lot. Though I have seen like 2 homemade kits that looked really good. I would think that it would just be some plywood and carpet automotive grade carpet.

You can just have the flows welded inplace of you stock mufflers on your catback. The X pipe wont be that hard to install, but if you get an O/R X pipe then you will need mil eliminators. You can either buy them for $60 or make them yourself for $3.

im liking the idea of making them for $3... hows it done?

and i feel stupid... i should of known to just weld in the flows... and ya im getting the Dr. Gas O/R X-pipe which ive heard is a PITA to put in because you have to weld it all in... o well i got a neighbor with a welder and a lift in his garage (so awesome)...
It might be a PITA to install but you won't regret getting the Dr. Gas when you hear it scream
i got to hear one last night! omg so sweet :hail2:  it was the exact same setup as im going for..

and ya let me know on the delete kit, are you making your own or bought a kit?

Edit: thanks for the link.

if you couldn't see one in person I wouldn't think that trial and error would be that hard on something like that. the piece for the trunk would basically be just an almost "square" (more rectangular) then there is just where the seats were. It shouldn't be that hard to take the seats out just to look and see what you will need to do. then once you get everything cut the carpet is real easy. IMO I don't really think it would be that hard, but on the other hand, I've not actually tried it.

Hey guys ... about the rear seat delete .... IT IS EASY TO MAKE. I spent $40 and that included buying a new jig saw along with the wood and carpet. I have a link that provides some pretty good instructions, but I am at work and it is on my home pc. I will post it tonight after 9 pm cst. Don't waste your money if you are skilled enough to use a saw and hammer. It took probably about 3 hours to make through trial and error the first time ... but I could make one now in probably 45 minutes easy.

I used 3/4" MDF board and it is really strong. My 100lb lab rides back there all the time without it breaking. I have had 2 people sit on it for a short trip to the store and it held up too.

The road noise is really not that bad. I have dynomat all in the car now for the stereo, but before it really wasn't much louder.
