Got my new seat covers in and am trying to remove the old ones. I have a 70 Grande'.(Same bucket seats as Mach 1). How do I remove the seat emblems without breaking them? I've already broken one. It looks like it was riveted on or something.

whwright had to cut them out of his old seats on his '72 'vert. We talked about how to take the keepers off, I think we decided a dremel might work.

Okay, I see. So I assume all I have to do is grind the keeper off and use some sort of small nut to hold them on again or is there some other sort of keeper that I can use?

if you can take the old off without damaging the stud, you might be able to find a similar press on disc at Ace Hardware. I have a link at work saved that is a company that has a lot of body fasteners, I think its Avnuco or something like that.

When I did the seats in my Mach 1 I used a dremel to grind the studs. To put the emblems in the new covers I used a push on nut thing and then put some JB Weld on the end to keep it from coming off. The emblems are still on there so it must have worked. Hope this helps
