seat frame cleanup

I've got some seat frames that I want to clean up so that I can put them back into my Mach 1, However the frames are rusty in some places and the old fiber mat is stuck to it in others. Overall, it just looks like hell. What is the easiest way to clean up the frames so that I can start repadding and reupholstering them? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I got some paint stripper from the hardware store and removed the paint. Then I sanded the loose rust off and followed that up with Por-15. Turned out looking just like new!

That's what I was thinking of, but I wanted to see if there was something that I could do myself before I took them to someone for blasting. Thanks.
