Hey guys, brand new here and probably in the wrong spot to ask this question, but here goes. Replaced seat covers on my 86 GT 5.0. The seats latched in place just fine before I disassembled them. They would recline (still do) but the latch lever on the seat back serves no purpose now after putting the seats back in car. They don't lock in place (as before, you needed to lift up little lever on seat back to allow back seat access). My question is this: did I trip something during disassembling that can be reset? I've seen responses about an inertia latch, but that is not the case as this was not the way it worked before. I feel as though something was "tripped" or change when I took them apart. Seats just flop now. ANY help would be appreciated. I've seen this happen on GM seats when taken apart for upholstery reasons or repair. Need that saftey factor! Thanks in advance for reply.
