Interior and Upholstery Seatbelts - 87 GT Convertible

I cant find any new seatbelts for my 90 convertible. E Bay has used ones, but they are a little pricey for a used belt.

Yes, mine do the same thing. I haven't gotten around to pulling them apart yet to see if anything can be done or not. Its annoying for sure.

I was able to get sn95 belts to work. They lock up as they should just have to install them at the right angle.

I had the same issue and just ended up buying new ones from LMR, maybe someday I'll pull them apart and see if I can fix them.
I wish I could find a shop that rebuilt them. Too much liability I suppose.
My understanding is that belts before a certain year behave differently than new belts. If you tug on a new belt hard, it locks almost instantly. Only belts don't seem to do that and rely on inertia to trigger the locking mechanism. Not 100% sure. The pre-90 or pre-91 belts have a tensioner in the door. It's the black plunger under the door latch. It connects to the seat belts.

Convertible is the problem. They make most just no convertible. They sell the universal three point that seem good. You just have to figure them out with measuring. They even come in lots of colors
