I have found a nice set of seats for my fox. My problem is they are electric and my car is all manual. Can I change the track and everything fit?? Would it be easy to make mine electric?? Help guys!! Thanks, Chris
the tracks will fit (from most mustang-mustang seats) and the power is dooable if you are handy with wires. alot of guys like to put 94+ seats in the fox and some hook the power seats up.
If the wiring is present under your seat, it should be a snap. I dont recall seeing any power seat wiring on my '88, but it might not have even been an option. My only experience with this lies with my 94. The power seat motor was crapped out when I got the car. I swapped it out for a manual track (new motors are outrageously expensive).
Even if you dont have the OEM wiring sitting unused under the seat, you could rig it all together fairly easily (it'd be best to get the OEM harness, though you could make your own). We could help you make something that mimics the OEM sourcing, routing, etc.
I'm thinkin that JR, Saleen and many others will advice about this - I simply cant afford 'comfort' upgrades like this, so I dont have experience with it.
Worst case is to spend 10 minutes swappin tracks and have nice new manual seats. I prefer manual (except on SN95's, the manual track doesnt have nearly the range that the power track had. My knees hit the knee panel with manual seats. )
Wait, do you have a 94-95 stang? I had just defaulted to assuming you had a fox. If you have an SN95, the power wiring should be under your seat. There are a couple of harnesses.
I do have a sn95 but this swap is for a fox Im rebuilding. My int is red and Im changing it over to gray. My fox is all manual so finding interior stuff is kinda hard to do. Thanks!
