I had your exact systems a few years ago which turned out to be a bad battery cable from the solenoid. Even though the cable looked pristine upon inspection.

Yes, they go bad on the inside from corrosion... If they are old, replace em....

This bad boy appears to have been the problem. I installed a new ignition switch plug and the stang starts hot every time now. Thank you all for your input. I’m sure I will be back. This electrical systems have more wire nuts (slices) than a Home Depot shelf.
