Well, i definitely don't need to sell the car. I just WANT to that's all. I'm bored of driving a Mustang every single day and need something to slosh through the snow. I could buy a cheap-ass little beater, but i really don't have a place to park it although i guess i could manage for 3-4 months this winter if need be.

But you are right. My car has been paid off for a while and nothing is wrong with it at all, so every month I drive it is money in the bank vs a car payment. Granted it is depreciating more with each mile, but it's better than a $400/month payment I guess. I wouldn't be saving anything on gas either as the car's i am looking to replace it with average mid-20's highway as well. I've easily done 25MPG with this thing on the highway...and do mostly highway driving

Anyway new wheels should be here tomorrow or thursday and i'll get my new tires after the holiday. Good timing too because i just discovered a HUGE spike in my rear tire that i don't think a plug would fix. I left it for now because the tire holds air and i think i'll make things worse if i yank it. It's a good 3/8" in diameter

Mike with the new wheels and tires its now a 10K car. Mustang sales suck right now. Wait till gas goes back down and the car is worth 11K. If you are not in a hurry then sit on it and dont just drop it cause you need money like I did to mine
People love a deal and will buy it if they think they are getting over on you. I have sold a couple thousand cars so I have seen it a few times.
A Mustang person will see the car for what it is and pay, everyone else sees it as a 5 year old gas guzzler.
Worst customers I had were the ones that got a great deal. The will bitch about everything.
The best customers are the ones that pay full price. They dont complain, they call to say how much they love the car and send friends to you.

I called the dealer, said give me your rock bottom price if I come in an cut you a check, they called back with a realistic number out the door, I drove the hour to go look at it, they never even asked for my DL's, I drove the car, saw the tires were respectable for the mileage, car was clean (not repaired), never saw winter and well taken care of. I came back, asked for a free tank of gas and signed the paperwork and went on my way.

Thank the Lord the car has been a good car, but then again, that's why I spent 6 mos. searching for that "clean 'Stang at a realistic price."

I looked at the picture of the advertised car, saw lots of green in the back ground, turned out the dealer had been sitting on it for 6 mos and why I got a good deal in Jan.

Set of snows (craigslist 275) and this thing goes through the winter as well as my wife's Xterra. It's been through 3+ inches without a lick of problems. I certainly hate to see it subjected to salt, but I do my best to wash it and besides, in another 5 years I will be itching to buy an s197 used LOL.

Drive it for another 5 years; you'll be 32 and good and ready for the upgraded luxury/sport car. By then you will have obtained your money's worth, still sell it for 5G and realistically, have probably put another 50K on it. What can you put 50+K on for 5 grand?

By then you maybe in a whole different career or position that you may regret tooling around in a g35 and may have wanted a BMW. Open an account and pay yourself the 400 dollars a month and the difference in insurance so that when you are good and ready, you have a down stroke.

Mustangs are good cars, not always the most practical, but there's a good reason why we chose to buy one or several and while we are still younger, its something that is just inside us, can't deny who we really are. Maybe Ford will have a 4dr based on the s197 chassis in the next 5 years that you could buy used at a killer deal with low miles.

Haha, someone who hasn't heard my BMW dream.

If i ever win the lottery, i'm going out and buying the sickest M6 out there. It would be a BMW forums wet dream car the same was we would drool over a GT-500KR with an extra 200HP on top of it......

And then i would proceed to bash it with a baseball bat and set it on fire in my front yard
