Well I can see going with a new stang. I know how you feel (sorta). I've thought about selling mine for a 2005 GT but after fixing all my problems and getting a new intake soon I think I'm re-kindling the fire so-to speak.

dang sorry to hear you feel that way zach. but the car is more valuable to you so you might want to keep it plus you know that our cars are better for auto X than a fox. just keep it and get a bike till you get out of school and then get a newer gt or better yet take out a huge loan and get a ford GT lol

I dont have a garage to park it in so it'll just sit outside not moving very much which is really bad. And if I did keep insurance on it, I couldnt afford to just have it sit there wasting $200 a month for a drive here and there. I'm not real sure what I'm going to do once I sell it, I might just save up my money and buy a new car when I get out of college in about 3-4 more years. But I need something reliable and good on gas because I'll be driving an hour 6 days out of the week to go to school. Used to take a 1/4 tank in my mustang to get there and back

no turning back now... and I think I set a new time record I was looking through the autotrader mag. today to see what an 02-04 GT was going for and they wanted damn near 15k for one. SOO... Today when I got home from work, I started working on pulling the engine out of my car, going to rebuild it along with the tranny, and finally finish up the fenders and repaint the engine bay of my car. I figure get the engine running good, has a HG on its way out from the turbo, leaks oil, and a few other things, then spend some money on suspension mods and it'll ride just as nice as a new car. Right now only two bellhousing bolts and the motor mount nuts are the only things still holding the engine in... Took everything else off in under 2 hours thats pretty sad huh?

I also have mikes old hood, the one he made to look like the saleen hood, and some stalker sideskirts that are going to go on, along with smoothing out the fenders, and new paint. I'm thinking a two tone, black top, red bottom.

That car looks hot

Anyway just remember if you get a newer car it too will become old and then your back in the same position.. I plan on keeping mine unless it gets wrecked or I come into big $$.

Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't the 99-04 the same exact car as the 94-98 with different sheet-metal? Drivetrain not included, of course.
Brandon

P.S. Congrats on the decision.

I have gone back and forth deciding on whether or not I should sell my car and I am going to keep it. It is paid for (I paid cash when I bought it) and with me not knowing what I am doing in the next few years, I don't need payments. I wish it was a little quicker (like we all don't!) but a forged 306 and a ProCharger will keep up with Cobra's all day long!

I know exactly how you felt Zach. I was about to sell my car about 3 weeks ago to get out of debt. Then I started thinking about it. If I get rid of my car, I'll still have to buy a new one and I'll be right back into debt. So, the hell with it, just keep it and upgrade, just like you're doing now. Congrats on your decision.
