Selling the stang for a turbo MR2.

I looked hard at getting one some time back. I cut my teeth on Euro stuff, which included a Euro mid engine car, and it handled like NOTHING else. You just cant beat having a center of mass like that.

And T-tops are kinda neat.

My wife's isn't a turbo, but at 2500lbs its 138hp engine gets the job done to the tune of high 15's. Yes, I raced it! LOL! Its definitely not the manliest car, but it may be on of the funnest cars I've had the pleasure of driving. I posted recently about my first SCCA Solo2 event I attended with it and I managed to get 2nd place in my class my first time out, and I beat the times of all my buddy's who all had a minimum of 200hp on me, AWD (2 evo's, 1 STi, and 1 skyline GTR), and suspension mods.

If I ever get my projects done and my wife will let me, I'd love to put the 2ZZ engine from the celica GTS in it. Its rated at 180hp and it will be paired with a 6 speed gear box and add about 2000rpm to the usuable range. That extra 50hp in a 2500lb car would do WONDERS for acceleration.

I've seen guys get these cars into the SUB 2000lb range!!!

Isn't it (the 138hp one) the engine that they use in the Lotus Elise? It has gotten nothing but rave reveiws for power in a small car. I can't imagine the MR2 weighing much more than the Lotus. The Lotus starts at about 20k more $$$.

I'm fairly certain that the lotus gets the 2ZZ I mentioned which is the 180hp one. The 138hp engine is refered to as the 1ZZ.

I'd LOVE the opportunity to drive a lotus elise! This MR2 definitely gave me a new found respect for power to weight ratio.

other cars:
Some of those cars are waay underestimated on the fun factor. Not kidding! The handling will blow us all away.

Diesels, yes, they now run 12's but not without their turbos..plus all kinds of mods... But I don't want a truck and I like the sound of my car over a diesel. Now if I put a turbo on the stang...well then look out...

Still, there is something about that Ford muscle v8 and the sound..I just can't do without! I have had the Z28 ,the small car (lots of fun) but I am a Mustang guy.

My cousin has a turbo MR2 with a broken motor that I would love to fix up. He's got an extra turbo motor to go with it, but he's wanting like $2k for it and it needs a LOT of work.

Did u have a hard time putting ur lipstick on while driving it hunni?

The only way to make a chick car cool is if there is a hot chick driving it. And if a guy is in a car with a chick and he's not driving, then it can only be for 3 reasons:

1 - He's too drunk

2 - He convinced the girl to take him home without revealing his own residence (hard to pull off)

3 - He's missing his right arm / left leg and said car is a standard

AWW come on guys, we're not that insecure in our masculinity are we!? We all know the list and a car is a car unless it is a:

A. Volkswagon Cabriolet (fwd)- gay or female.
B. Volkswagon Bug (fwd) - gay or female or lesbian.

Miata's (rwd)and MR2's (rwd) are Awesome track cars and if you don't know that you should look into it. Everyone knows that. :)
