thx for all the help on this anyway.....u got any big pics of your car...i assume you do cause off the 400 pics of the throttle body.....im lookin for a new desktop for my computer, and also im priting out some mustang pics for the garage on photo paper and i need some big pics......id love some of your car!!!!!!!!!!

Thats 5 yrs worth of work to get it the way I wanted...Lots of overtime didn't hurt either...
I have 400 pics altogether, not of just the TB....I'm anal, but not that anal...

sorry to bring this back, but I wanted to say thank you, and also ask if theres a way to make it so that the stock temp gauge still works... I don't like dead gauges!

Are you referring to Water Temp gauge, or Oil Pressure?

I just did this install. Three ways you can do this. Get a T where the stock unit goes. Not too accurate though.

Get the FRPP chrome water neck, which has a location for another sender. I would recommend putting the stock sender there, and the aftermarket in the factory location. Just for accuracy. The water neck does not read correct until the T-stat opens.

Do what I did, have the factory water neck tapped. Worked really well. I will try to post pics here, but if not, hit up page 4 in my cardomain. Page is in my sig. Pics haven't been working lately.

Here is the stock sending unit in the thermo housing...youll have to extend the wire 6-8" to reach the new location...
I have the FRPP chrome housing...they suck..plain and simple as they like to leak, this is on my Spring "dump it list"...Supposedly someone makes an o-ring unit it in chrome thats better at sealing...This is the only FRPP part I ever bought that doesn't work....

with the help of RC, Andy, et al, i learned that one can get a new [but cast] waterneck (thermostat housing) at DAP (which i could not figure out - we dont have those here. LOL) or Autozone. it has a plugged port as a provision for a sender. i relocated the stock sender to this location (one has to lengthen the wire a little). piece of cake.

WERD..As Hissin says above. For $10, you can get a cast one which you can torque down tight. I would recommend sanding it down really lightly, THEN putting some heat resisitant paint of your choice, otherwise the light rust dust forms.
