That's just too funny that a person working behind a parts counter doesn't know that.

IAT =intake air temperature
ECT=engine coolant temperature

autozone does the free obdII testing and the connected it up to my car and it said unable to link. The guy said there is something either wrong with my wiring or something to my computer that won't let it read. So pulled out my cd player and part of the carpet and couldn't find anything wrong there but, it still wouldn't work.

Our cars don't use the obdII. We have the eecIV maybe they were using the wrong program and thats why they could not link up. Then again I'm probably way off on this.

the obdII fit in there perfect but from what i understand obdII is on 96+ cars. Where could I get something or where could I go to get my codes checked?

That my understanding as well they are on the 4.6s. From what I read some say you can go to wal-mart and buy a code puller from their .

obd-II cars use like a 16 pin connector. it is almost always under the drivers dash. how could someone try to hook up an OBD-II connector to an EEC-IV connector?
im stupid.
now, some 95 camaros (obd-I) have a 16 pin OBD-2 connector. that leads to headaches.

Here is how to check your own codes, FOR FREE!!!!!!
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/445.shtml

Our cars are OBDI, not OBDII. That is why the 4.6L have 4 O2's and a bunch of extra sensors.

If you go to autozone, they sell the IAT sensor as a ACT (Air Charge Temperature). That is probably why they couldn't find it. The ECT is normal. Those tools only get paid $5.50/hr, so don't expect any genius minds to be behind the counter.

What the heck?! I was following the links above and both links came out to be for the ECT sensor but they're asking different prices for them! The only difference is the year of the car. Once is for a 94 and the other is for a 95 and the part # is the same!

Link 1: http://www1.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?UseCase=C001&UserAction=loadPage

Link 2: http://www1.autozone.com/servlet/Ui...~MUSTANG|~1994|~3+MO|~0.05|~EA|~B|~WL2|~false

Why is this?

BTW, sorry for bringing this back from the dead
