well i went into autozone today and i was all i need an ect and iat sensor and the guy looks at me and is all wtf?!?! I was all  that what i was told to get.....anyways what do they stand for?

i can get them at autozone or soemthing right? Or would i have to get them else where? I'm still trying to figure out why my computer wont link up and let them test for codes.

autozone does the free obdII testing and the connected it up to my car and it said unable to link. The guy said there is something either wrong with my wiring or something to my computer that won't let it read. So pulled out my cd player and part of the carpet and couldn't find anything wrong there but, it still wouldn't work.

Our cars don't use the obdII. We have the eecIV maybe they were using the wrong program  and thats why they could not link up. Then again I'm probably way off on this.

obd-II cars use like a 16 pin connector. it is almost always under the drivers dash. how could someone try to hook up an OBD-II connector to an EEC-IV connector?
im stupid. :-)
now, some 95 camaros (obd-I) have a 16 pin OBD-2 connector. that leads to headaches.

Here is how to check your own codes, FOR FREE!!!!!!

Our cars are OBDI, not OBDII. That is why the 4.6L have 4 O2's and a bunch of extra sensors.

If you go to autozone, they sell the IAT sensor as a ACT (Air Charge Temperature). That is probably why they couldn't find it. The ECT is normal. Those tools only get paid $5.50/hr, so don't expect any genius minds to be behind the counter.
