Ok i dunno whats up with this but i was driving home today and i rolled my windows down for a few minutes to let the vheicle cool off after work and then i tried to roll them back up and turn on the ac and the drivers side would not come back up. I live in an apartment complex and i cannot leave my vehicle with a window down like this. I called the closest dealserhip but their technicians have already gone home. Any suggestions?

i checked and the glass appears to be stuck or something its down under the rubber lip but it is higher than the passenger side goes down fine. It doesn't feel like its off kilter but i can't tell by looking at it.

You really have no choice but to pop the door panel off and take a look.

Sucks.

Can you even see the glass from when the panel is off? It is making a clicking sound when i try to press it down and it makes no sense when i press the button for the window to go up.

What am i looking for?

Also, what tools would I need to work on it? I have VERY FEW tools...im gonna go try to pull it off.

I doubt its a window switch. It made a clicking sound when trying to lower the window. I think the switch was fine. It is probably the motor but I'm still going to get it checked out. I only have 1k left under warranty.

Yep, same thing happened to me to. Got in the car and the driver's side window wouldn't go up. I took it to the dealer - I'm out of warranty already -they popped the pannel off and said they tapped the electric motor with a hammer and it started working again. That professional job cost me $90.00. Then they wanted another $300 to replace the motor. I said f**K it, and decided to do it myself. Funny thing is, I never got around to it and two months later, it still works just fine. Maybe something about the design allows dirt or debris to get in there and mess up the system.

Has to be the window motor. Just had mine replaced by Ford under warranty. It was doing what you described. They actualy had a glass company replace it cause they were afraid to break the window.

Same thing happened to me, drivers side window wouldn't go up. I took the door panel off and took the glass and drive unit out, thinking I would have to replace the motor. By the time I got all of it out. I tested the motor and it worked, so I just stuck it back in.

Your motor is going out. Both of mine have done the same thing. Temporary fix, take off the door panel, and just LOOSEN the 3 bolts that hold the motor in place. Then re-tighten them and it should work fine. But you'll need to replace it otherwise it will keep going out. It has something to do with the motor finds a dead spot.

It's a known problem.

The brush that cleans the window when you put it up and down gets dirty and prevents the window from ging up sometimes.

Tip: With your fist just bump the bottom portion of the inside panel on your door a few times wile trying to put the window up. This knocks the dirt loose a bit.

If it continues to happen, then take it to the dealership.

same thing happened to me about a month ago..i took it to the dealership and the guy told me sometimes the motor builds some sort of weld when its hot..and he firmly hit it at the bottom of the door panel in the middle, and it went right up..it happened several times after that and i did the same thing and it works..it hasnt done it recently though..but maybe u could give that a try
