Hi All,

I am of course new to the forum so hi to everyone.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem.
I was shocked at what Ford told after my 03 GT was looked at for the service light on.

Basically I have 4:10's fitted and a few other mods but we also fitted a MAC rear end cover and to my dis-believe the rear end cover has cause damage to the fuel evap hose and caused some very minor under body damage. I didn't see or read any warnings about looking out for clearance room ect..
I found out from the Ford racing web site that they have a tech note stating to watch out for this. I know the clearance is tight but I didn't think that a manufacture would design something that would cause damage to the car with out a warning.
So my question is does anyone else have one fitted and have /had any problem and if not how did you get around it?

thanks
freddy

Yes, I have had that problem, I moved the evaporator hose over buy mounting a rubber covered steel clamp to the floor board holding the hose away from the travel area needed for the housing. The hose is held in place with pinch clamps which can be pulled out easily and repositioned, then pushed back on the pinch clamps and securly held in place by the new clamp. I guess the spare tire well needs to be peened in a little on some cars too so to avoid contact. The cover would hit the spare tire well on my Mach1 but on my Son's GT it does not. The hose had to be moved on both so I guess the manufacturing tolerances make the difference on contact with the spare tire well.

I talked with the manufacturer about this and he said the cover itself could have some material machined without loosing any of it's strength but recommended not taking off more than an 1/8" or so just in the flat area where the bearing cap pressure bolts are counterbored in.
