SES Light Question

Hi all,

New member here. I read earlier and performed the only "free mod" that I could find being the removal of the air silencer on my wife's '04 GT. Drove about 15-20 miles and now getting the SES light. Could it be throwing a code for the MAF sensing a different air flow? I completley removed the silencer but I'm not sure if I like the air filter being so openly exposed. Should I just trim the insert and still get the same effect? I'm new with the Mustangs as you can see what my ride is in my sig. :D

Glad to be aboard and hope to learn alot from everyone.

The MIL shouldn't illuminate because of that.. all you did was allowed the airbox to grab a tad bit more air.. but nothing the MAF can't adjust for.

What's the code? You can have them pulled at Autozone for free. It could be your MAF came unplugged a little or something...

:stupid: double check to make sure the MAF plug isnt loose, or go to autozone to get the codes pulled

Welcome to the boards :SNSign:

Thank you everyone. I feel like a real dumba$$, I was in a big hurry and did not have the wiring harness completley inserted. :bang: Man, am I gonna beat myself up over that one for awhile. What's your opinion on my removing the whole silencer? With the exposure the filter has now, should I be cautioned with it this way or not to worry?

But, on a positive note, just got back from the muffler shop, cut the stock mufflers out and straight piped it for her. Is a surprise, she's gonna be dumbfounded when I roll into her office parking lot to pick her up today. What a difference and it sounds pretty mean. Ahem...not as mean as my TA though! :nice:
