I like a fast idle, around 950 rpm. After adjusting tps and idle, the car returns itself to somewhere around 650 rpm. This has happend many times, I went so far as to replace the idle screw, as I thought it might be vibrating and backing out. Anyone ever heard of something like this?

Yeah, I read that thread earlier, just going on what a buddy had told me. We set it at the mythical .999. As far at the idle screw goes,it had an allen screw for adjustment and was pretty short. It just seemed like it could be backing out, replaced it with a doulbel nutted bolt so it can't back out. My only other guess is maybe the ECU is regulating the idle somehow.

EEC programmed idle set point target is 672 RPM, maximum ISC controlled idle set point is 850 RPM.... and yes, the EEC does set/regulate idle, it is one of its duties.
