Ok I started my h/c/I swap an before I started I wasn't thinking and just pulled the distributor out instead of putting it on tdc an just putting it straight back in. When I'm do e with my install should I just turn the motor so no1 is tdc an slide the distributor in? Or how should I go abt doing it. With spout connector in or out?

Yes, put #1 on TDC compression stroke, then line rotor up with #1 plug wire. Rotor should be pointing somewhere directly back towards the intake. You will probably have to leave the dizzy a little loose and have someone slowly rotate it while you are cranking in order to get it to fire. Jrichker and some others have write ups on here that are more detailed if you can do a search.
