Unless you had an appraisal done, or can provide receipts for the wheels, I doubt you're gonna see anything other than blue book value for them. Can't really tell by the pic, but were they damaged in the accident? If not, pull them off (along with any other high performance parts you’ve installed) and sell them outright. They can’t stop you from removing your aftermarket parts and replacing them with the stock ones if their pay out is based on that of a stock Mustang.

I'd just call them up and say.....

“I’m aware the car is insured for black book value, and unless I’m mistaken, the aftermarket parts (wheels, tires, shifter…whatever) aren't going to increase the amount of my pay out if your adjuster determines the car is a total loss, since it wasn’t appraised pervious to the accident in order to determine it’s increased value based on the parts I installed. These are my receipts for the aftermarket items installed on the car (if you’ve got them) and unless you’re willing to give me a portion of their replacement value when determining it’s value, I want to remove them and replace them with the stock parts to help reimburse my loss”.

It should make no difference to them where you keep your aftermarket parts or not, if they aren’t calculating their value into the pay out price, so taking them off might be in your best interest. Besides, they're not there to appraise the vehicles worth (that’s predetermined by their little black book based on the vehicles year and mileage), they're there to determine the amount of damage sustained to the vehicle and whether it makes more sense for them to fix your car, or write it off based on its current value. Judging by those pictures, it’s a pretty safe bet that your car is going to be written off, but they can’t exactly make that call over the phone, so they’re sending someone down to look the car over in person.

There isn't that much damage. They will probably fix it.

Unless the car has over 13-14,000 in damage, which I doubt, then it might get written off. A friend of mine had her '97 Neon stolen. It had over 8500 damage and SGI still fixed it.

I dunno about that. Hit from the side the way it was, looks like there was most definitely damage to the sub frame. Once that's bent, it's almost a guarantee that they'll write it off. If by some miracle they don't, you'd better get your ass under there and make sure everything is strait as an arrow afterwards and get some sort of documentation from the body shop stating as much.

Little Update here... Car was a complete TL, over 21k in damages. Sgi appraised it for 19,600 when originaly we bought the car for 17,650. O well since then I'm looking at financing a 03 GT 5spd, which is a hell of a lot better than a 6 If everything goes as planned I should have it by this saturday if not then tuesday it is . O and I happened to get my rims back from them even though the front is chipped down to the bare metal and there is a fair sized chunk of metal taken out of the spoke. Is it just better to buy one new wheel or is there any one in town that could fix this?
