yeah well thats the cheapest way to lift the back end, all i want is like an inch, eventually im gonna get drop springs for the front and put the stock shackles out back, it just looks really weird to me becuse the front is higher than the back,im thinking that the first hole on the shackles will be long enuf, if they are im gonna cut the rest off the shackle...

rear springs are as new as the shackles, they just setteled down, i cant put that much money into this car right now for lower coils, i can barley drive it as it is becuse of gas, i have to save money, i have a wedding that im gonna have to help with here pretty soon (aug 26th) so the cheap ways are gonna have to do for a wile...so you see my prob?

You could also cut 1/4 coil off the springs and drop the front. Cost = $0 except your time.
yeah but the prob with that is i dont want to screw up and have to buy new springs, i was thinking about doing that before but right now i cant spend that much money, once i can spend some money i will try that.

You can have a spring shop put more arch into your springs, they can even move the eyes.
And about that, i dont really have that much time to take stuff out now, im working 60+ hrs a week with NO days off, so what i do has to get done in the morning right before work cuz by the time i get home i cant see anything and im soo tired that i just get on here and just fall over dead to the world...

That is why I said 1/4 coil and not 1/2 or a full coil. Some people state how they cut a full coil off their springs and it dropped it right where they wanted it. I cut 1/2 off each of mine and can't imagine cutting off more than that--had I cut off more I might as well put a skateboard under the frame rails to hold it up...

sounds like you REALLY want them shackles. To cut both front coils is about a 3 hour job and "0" cost, replacing shackles is a little less time and you already have money into shackles that your gonna remove at a later date anyway...............doesnt make sence :(

i understand everyones p.o.v. but i do have a few questions, first how will i know where to cut the second coil? to keep it from sitting slanted? also how much lower would it put the middle of the car, before i got the rear leafs and the exhaust done it would scrape on everything, especally my driveway, and that blood curdling scrape over the speedbumps at the mall is just soo cool (and no its not cuz im going to fast, i normallyinch my way over them) and what would be the affects to handleing with both (not together)

Also, its not that i really want the shackles its just that i asked a question about rasing the back or lowering the front and was told just to get the lift shackles, afew months later i get them and then ask if i need to replace the bushings and you guys are prety much telling me that this is a stupid idea.....

the original problem is that the rear is lower then the front....correct???? I doubt your car will be so low that it scrape if you cut a coil from the front. Its not that much work to cut a 1/4 or 1/2 coil and see where it is and if it needs more, cut another 1/4. My frame sits about 3 inches off the ground and i rarely scrape anything. Putting shackles is a temporary fix that your gonna change later and you were saying you didnt have much money, thats why people were saying to cut the coils to level the car, but its your choice.
