SHAKER 1000 OR SHAKER 500?????

LISTENED TO THE 500 AND IT WAS NICE. BETTER THAN MY MACH 460. IS IT WORTH THE EXTRA $1300 FOR THE 1000?? OPINIONS PLEASE. THANK YOU.

Need some more reaserch on the speaker part numbers, What are the part numbers on your rear deck speakers. The 1000 is supposed to have Audiophil speakers. If the only upgrade is the addition of the subs and "500" watts I would say no its not worth it. I bought mine off the lot from dealer stock and did not particuarly want the 1000, but it allready had it. My friend has the 500 but I have not listened to his system yet.

It will be a Shaker 500 for me. I can't see myself with the 1000 and the extra $$$. I am getting to my mid-life crisis anyway.

500 is the middle of the road comparing to the 80 watt standard system and Shaker 1000

I listened to the three systems at a local dealer. I'm sticking with the Shaker 500. The 1000 added a lot of depth to the sound and it wasn't too bad on space considering it has two 10" subs. But for the money I feel that I can do much better. The only addition is the sub box and I didn't see any external amps, so they may be inside of the enclosure? But the rest of the system is exactly the same as the 500. And honestly, the rear deck speakers are lacking in sound quality. If you have heard the Mach 460 rear speakers, I feel that they are better than the ones in the rear deck of the new Shaker system. But the ones in the doors the 8" subs do one hell of a job to take up the slack. If you want the sound and don't want to mess with any other kind of enclosure then go for the 1000, if your worried about the extra $$ and wouldn't mind doing an aftermarket system. Than save your bucks.

In the Shaker 1000, there are actually 4 amps mounted to a bracket behind the sub enclosure. I am not sure if all 4 run the 2 10" subs, or if 2 also power the 8" ones. Does anybody know?

the 1000 is great because its stock. But its $2000 (can) for that amount you can prob get such a better sounding aftermarket system. bigger and better subs, better speakers, and get some king of deck that would look much better. plus once you finish with all that itll prob cost the same amount roughly but itll sound 10 times better. it bassicly depends if your goin stock or if you want to go aftermarket.

I think it depends on the type of music you like. Myself, I am more into rock than anything else. Big bass isn't really needed for that kind of music. If you are into hip hop or something like that, then the 1000 is probally the better choice.

I went with the 500 b/c I think it's a waste of money for the 1000. the quality of the subwoofers in the rear are not that great, I figure for $1300 you can have a very nice custom inclosed setup made for you and it'll sound a hell of a lot better.

I'm into rock, jazz, and a little bit of big band music. I'm not old either, lol. At least I don't think 26 is that old. I just like an array of genres in the music world. However, I still ordered my Mustang GT with the 1000. I've heard both and I absolutely loved the 1000 over the 500. Someone said earlier that you couldn't adjust the subs to not sound so bassy. That's not true at all. You can have the subs at a moderate level (or turn them off completely) and they sound great with the other 8 speakers. For someone that's never had a subwoofer setup at all but that's been around plenty of setups from aftermarket suppliers, I really enjoyed the sound of the 1000. The 500 is awesome too, just depends on what you want. I just wanted to put to rest the myth that subs can only be used for rap and hip-hop music. At controlled levels subwoofers kick so much rear when adjusted correctly, which you can do with this system. Just my two cents.

I don't consider myself to be a car audio system freak...in other words whatever it comes with i'm pretty content to have. But I have to say that the Shaker 1000 blew my mind. I had a 2001 Maxima with the Bose, and I have a new Infiniti FX 35 and neither of those systems can touch the Shaker. That thing is nice!

I am going with 500 for my car. The subs are very good quality inside and at least for me give me exactly what I want from the bass.

When I decide To order my GT, I will order the Shaker 500. I am aproaching that stage of my life where I need my hearing! I don't car for the setup of the factory stock system

Yeah still undecided if I'm going to get 500 or 1000. Never heard either yet, just saw the speakers and the radio on the floor model at a Koons Ford dealership.

Uhm, how do mp3 cds work in that thing?

two things, someone asked earlier if the four amps behind the mach 1000 speakers were for just the subs or for the subs and the 8 inch speakers. they are only for the 10 inch subs, they are dual voice coil speakers so they have an amp for each voice coil. also concerning mp3 cds, its still just a regular cd-r just the music is saved in mp3 format instead of converting to wav files. because the mp3 is a much smaller file size you can put more songs on a cd than when setup as a regular cd somethig like 150 songs as compared to 20 or so on a regular cd
