Does any body know what 8" sub fits in the factory sub location in the doors? And also what are the shaker 500 door subs specifications as far as power handleing and what kind of power is the factory amp sending to them? I would like to put a better 8" sub in the doors but would like it to run off of the factory amp for now until I decide to do more.

You have to first see what the resistance of the factory speaker is.Ford has always used wierd ratings. Then see the depth you have and go from there.

They're nominal 2ohm drivers. The hard part will be fitment of new ones. Apparently, there is plenty of depth, but it's kind of "necked-down" so magnet diameter becomes an issue. I know that an MTX 4500 will drop right in, but that isn't a great option. Maybe the CDT EF8, but I haven't gotten a lot of info. The JL 8w3v2 will work with some cutting. The Peerless CSC-X 8" should work VERY well, but it's a single 4 ohm.
