My only issue with shaker hoods is that they can make life more difficult for other upgrades down the road. Functional ram air doesn't always like to connect to other items that are associated with the inlet tract, in the same location that the other mods want to connect.
Most aftermarket mods are constructed with OEM locations in mind.
If you were going to buy a blower TODAY, then take a look at the install instructions for the blower and those of the shaker kit. Ensure that they can both exist on the same car before you pull the trigger.
