I did a search and didn't find anything, so here goes...

When I'm driving on the highway or in the city and I go over some rough road, my engine feels like it's shaking and trying to fall out. I don't know if it's the engine or the transmission, but I can definitely feel it. Could this be caused by loose/broken transmission mounts or engine mounts? What kind of shop would I take this to to get checked out?

Thanks again guys for all the help y'all have provided me.

Any shop with a lift could look around under your car.You could raise the car,put it on jackstands, crawl under and look around for shiny or worn places where things could be moving around.A car this old could have rotten suspension bushings that cause all kinds of problems.Repost and let us know how this turns out.

A variety of shops should be able to check that out.. maybe even take it to Ford. Definitely sounds like mounts; I've heard of the tranny mount bolts working themselves loose on some Mustangs. Get under and check them out before taking it in - something to try.

Trans mount is near the tailshaft of the transmission, it'll be bolted to the crossmember.

it can be trans mount. But way your saying sound more like engine mount... they are not that hard to replace. three 13mm bolts, with few straps.

and if it is mount, i would replace it with Urathen mount, and get trans mount
