Shaking problems

I have been having trouble with my 97 GT. When i accelerate the car starts shaking. It also does not have the power it should. It doesnt matter if I am driving slow or fast if I have my foot on the gas it shakes. I do not know what could be causing this. The motor is completely stock. Anyone have any suggestions?

I assume you mean the motor shakes?

Start with a tune up. Plugs, wires, air filter, and fuel injector cleaner.

If that doesn't work, start looking at the COP

if it is an automatic then your torque converter in your transmission is ****ed

Look for a broken motor mount or transmission mount or loose fasteners on those mounts. As mentioned by "Maxpowers", there may be a fouled plug or broken plug wire or even a failed coil pack.

Is the check engine light (aka malfunction indicator lamp or MIL) on or flashing when this "shaking" happens?

It is a manual transmission and the check engine light does not come on.
