A powder fire extguisher will certainly put out a fire, but the downside is that the powder tends to bond permanently to any hot part it touches. Which means that even if it's a small part that catches fire, you may end up replacing a lot of stuff anyway. At least you get to keep the car.I figured a wal mart special fire extinguisher is better than nothing, so that is what I have in mine.
