Shelby 1" Drop + 1" Drop Springs?

It has been quite awhile since I've logged on. Right now i'm doing a buncch of front frame rail work and have the engine out. So I've been thinking of the 1" Shelby A-frame drop. Here are my questions. Is it recommended to do the 1" Shelby drop and use 1" drop springs? Or is it better to use the standard springs? Are the 1" drop springs too loose when this is done? What did the original Shelby's have? This is for a 65 Coupe. Any feedback/comments welcome.

I'd do both, the shelby drop only lowers the car by about 1/4" but it works wonders for the handling. The combination of both won't be too low.

I think you'll be fine when using the 1" drop springs with the Shelby drop.I used the Shelby drop for a 3/4" drop overall, plus cut 1 full coil from my stock springs for another 2" of drop. Granted, it takes some care when driving in and out of gas stations and over speed bumps, but it's very comfy and doesn't bump-steer at all.

the shelby drop doesn't really move the car much. and the drop springs, when replacing worn-out/saggy stock height springs (like mine a few months ago) don't actually drop the front as much either sometimes.

go for it and do both

O.K. Sounds good I will most likely do both. Mostly just worried if the springs would be too loose? Just want to have a slight cant/rake from front to back not too overstated. Thanks guys!

Another thing to remember is to measure from a specific point before and after anytime you change anything on the suspension, front or rear. Otherwise you may end up not really knowing how much you dropped the car. I wouldn't worry about the springs being too loose, it's not like they're gonna fall out over a big bump or anything
