I remember that either 67 or 68 had a cover that ran from the radiator support to the grill. Basically, you couldn't look down into the grill. Anyone can post a pic or email me please to [email protected] please?
Your thinking of an air foil. A lot of vintage race cars used them. They are a cover that blocks additional air from coming under the hood and creating a parachute effect.
Here's a site about a '65 Shelby with an air foil. I hope the guy doesn't mind me posting a picture from his site, but I have been trying to come up with an air foil myself. - http://jmichael.info/SHELBY.htm
Here's a picture from the site:
Also, here's a link to a great site with a ton of vintage racing pictures. If you go to the "Paddock Photos" section and scroll through the pictures, you will see a lot of air foils installed on all makes and models - 67, 68, 69, & 70 Mustangs, Camaros, Javelin, etc. Great site - http://www.historictransam.com/Roster.htm
I'll do just like the pics you showed me. Ken from Vintage-Mustangs.com did this, and I'll probably duplicate it. My radiator support is custom and pushed forward, so it will look a bit different. Thanks for your tips. Very helpful.
