Had a chance to dyno the engine and got 288hp... I'm having carb problems though but at least the car runs pretty good. I put 400kms in about 2 days lol
Got sideways yesterday for the first time. It was fun. I have trouble with this old carb of mine though. I took it apart and I found that my baseplate and main body are all warped to hell. I want to borrow my friend's carb so I can get my power back again. It's funny to see a car without a locked diff (8.8 still not in) and 275's manage to slide the rear end by gassing it on a roll (about 30km/h in 2nd). I'm going to put the locked rear-end in about 2 weeks for real this time Shocks are finished in back and the 4 banger 7.5" setup has got to be the most stupid thing I've ever seen for shock mounts.
- Holley 650cfm double pump mechanical secs.
- Holley red electric fuel pump
- Performance products ported CrossWind intake
- Very mild port on E7 heads (removed bumps)
- KB flat top and notched pistons (CR up to 9.6:1)
- cam: .500/.500 lift, 224/224 durr compcams
I honed my own cylinders, had the cranked checked and polished. Rotating assembly was balanced. I'm waiting to buy some good aluminum heads for this engine and once I got those, I will put a bigger cam like the X303 or something. My goal is from 360 to 400hp NA which will be possible with a good set of heads and a good tune.
