Im about to buy a transgo shift kit to put into my 95 aode. When i manually downshift from drive to 2nd, or from 2nd the 1st will it automatically shift or will it take a second like the it does stock. When the shifter clicks i want it to be in the gear instead of having to wait another second while the 5speed next to me is already back on the gas pedal. Thanks for any help.

sounds like you want a manual valvebody, no?

Good luck.

Not good for the Tranny to be Downshifting yourself all the time...If you like doing that, and you are spending money on the AODE, might as well change to a T5

Well i dont do it very often, i was just wondering if it would change that also. What exactly does a manual valvebody do?

according to the tccoa article, its says that you shouldnt do a 4th(OD) to 2nd downshift unless your valvebody is moded. but i dont see the need to have to manually downshift it, just let the tranny do that for you.

I do it about once a month, (2 to 1st) when I pull up next to a ricer, just so they can hear the Vortech and exhaust.

before the shiftkit i hated doing the D to 2 or 2 to 1 downshift. i only did it while coming down to a stop. it used to have that pause for a second and then shift at a high rpm.

i havent tried it yet tho with the shiftkit and torque converter
