Shift Kit VS. ShiftPlus Help ASAP

I'd say go with the B&M electronic shift its only 40 bucks and simple to install . Its going to increase your line pressure and make your shifts firmer but wont put you back in your seat.(how radical do you want to get with a v-6 anyway )

the b-m is easy to install...i did it on my 98gt

but it increases line pressure...not safe in the long term on stock lines

I really dont think line pressurre will be that big of an issue anyway if you get concerned just flip the switch back to normal. Most valve-body kits increase line pressurre anyway.

If you want a shift kit, the Jerry mod is the only one I recommend. It was designed by Jerry Wroblewski, an ex-Ford engineer who helped design the 4r70w automatic transmission. He wrote a series of articles over a www.tccoa.com about the 4r70w automatic transmission. His shift kit involves modifying the 1-2 and 2-3 accumulator pistons along with enlarging the holes in the seperator plate of the main control unit, aka the valve body. If you dont know how to do this, print out the instructions over at www.tccoa.com and give them to a transmission specialist. They'll know how to handle it. I dont recommend doing anything that involves manipulation of the EPC(Electronic control solenoid) as this will increase line pressure, but can result in premature failure of transmission components. I also dont recommend using any shift kit that involves "blocker rings" in the accumulator pistons. If youre going to mess with the line pressure, make sure you know what you're doing. Too much line pressure in the transmission in one area can result in reduced line pressure feed to other areas and can result in premature failure of those components. Basically put, read the articles over at www.tccoa.com and if you wish to get ahold of Jerry himself, go to www.modulardepot.com and join their forums board. Dont mess around with the ShiftPlus. I had one on my 95 S10, and it doesnt do crap. Its basically a "tricker box" that makes your transmission shift as if it were at WOT all the time. So when you're flooring it, it doesnt do jack. Save up, get a real B&M or Transgo kit, and a trans cooler.

its not worth the 35 bucks. hell, if you really want to try it, i can give you a link to build one for 2 bucks at radio shack. Its simply a resistor.
