What about changing the shoft pressure by getting a chip or programmer? Does thisgive you results comparable to the Jerry Mod. Would the Jerry Mod pffer more benefits then changing the shift pressure electronically?
thanks

Mustangl3:

Increasing line pressure is not recommended. The pump has a fixed capacity and if more flow is directed towards increasing pressure, there will be less for lubrication, etc.

The J-mod has you enlarge some holes in the separator plate. By making these holes (orifices) larger, the fluid can move from one side to the other quicker so the shift occurs quicker. This is all done at 'stock' fluid pressures. The quicker shifts mean less energy is wasted in the form of friction and the fluid temperature does not get overly hot and the clutches last longer (since they are not clamping as long). The articles written by Mr. W are much more informative than anything I can provide so you really should print them all out and spend an evening reading through them (including A-Train's articles if you a serious about doing the J-mod yourself). Now, once the J-mod is done, you can get your PCM reflashed (or add a chip) to increase line pressure WHEN you want it. That's the hot ticket!!

Lastly, and I forgot to mention this earlier, is that you should install an auxillary cooler. They can be had for $50 to $110 and are cheap insurance against heat-related failure of the transmission.
