Shift Knob Fitment / Selection ?

I have a 1994 World Class T-5 trans in my 1990 GT FOX. I do not have a shifter knob. My friend gave me a random billet knob off of a PRO 5.0 shifter but it doesnt seem as if the threads are the same between this and the stock because it wont screw on more than 4 threads. The knob is fine and so is my shifter. I like the look of the stock knob on a 05 and up so will a stock 05-07 Mustang knob fit ? What will work wont ?

Fabfordtech the standard knob for the ford shifter is metric 12mm X 1.75 my guess is the pro 5.0 shifter being usa made is more than likely SAE threads. I have a lathe in my home shop I could bore out the knob you have now & bush it for whatever thread you need. Would be way less expensive than the cheesy knobs with the different sleeves you install & then tighten with set screws not to metion it F's up the threads on the shifter and constantly works itself loose. Either buy the right size or make your own is my advice.

i have this shift knob from UPR and it fits fine on my Kona handle as well as my steeda tri-ax handle. it is threaded and has a set screw at the bottom.

I loved that shift knob. I have one just like it.... Then one day I was working on the car, and drinkin' and lost the lil screw that goes in the bottom. :notnice:
