shift knob

for just driving like a normal person the stock knob was fine...

for driving it like it was made to be driven... hurst pistol grip!

Just installed this one in my car. It has a push button on top that I will use to activate my 2 step launch control

yea mine doesnt have a button yet... im going to have the machine shop at my work put one in it and have it turn on the 2 step and line lock

Regular round ball knob or leather wrapped have always been the most comfortable and best looking to me personally. I think T-handle, pistol grip, or gimmicky beer tap/skull knobs look way out of place in mustangs (and mostly any car for that matter).

All very nice, havent tried a pistol grip yet im going to though, Anybody got anything unique??? My buddy just got out of the army and he drilled and tapped out a 40mm grenade round its pretty sweet :nice:

Yea, I've seen that done before, it's pretty cool.

I used to have access to a machine shop at a orthopaedic manufacturer and I made a shift knob for my car out of implant-grade titanium alloy. In other words, my shifter could have ended up in your grandma's hip. :p The shape is pretty basic, it's just the material that makes it cool. You can see it in this older picture:

I also think the new MGW knobs are pretty cool:

Stock

Its a last change option for me. I just need a handle and two feet and I shift like an SOB :D

haha i had to many issues punching the dash going to 3rd to stick with it... other then that it worked fine for even driving hard.

anyone else with a pistol grip feel like they could break a shift handle if they tried?

That's what I have in my LX. I had a custom boot made for it in gray with black stitching to match the knob better.

I've been trying to figure out what I want for my Saleen. The darned later Fox Saleen knobs go for $300+ used, so I don't want to keep it in there all the time. I think I'm going to swap in my white Hurst ball for now.

I had a B&M t handle in my 89, I liked it a lot but it didn't thread onto my handle so it was loose, kinda annoying.

When I get one for my 80 im gonna get the cobra 5 speed one like what 5l5 has. I like the look of that one a lot and it looks stock and not out of place :nice:
