i was wondering if there was a way to make my AODE shift quicker? it seems to take longer then say a 4l60 in a camaro. this is my first ford so i am not sure if it is normal for this type of trans. also if a shift kit will say help or fix this problem will it shift so hard that it blows up or makes it undriveable during normal driving?

You can get a TransPak from B&M or something like that. It will make it shift quicker, and actually reduce the wear in the transmission.

I'm using a Transgo HD2 shift kit. Shift firmness is adjustable. Nothing will "blow up".

either j-mod it or go the Transgo route. tranny cooler is a must even if its a stock tranny. i went a step further and added a deeper pan and trans temp gauge.

my trans shifts firm and quick now. it also chirps the tires when i feel like it :)

the transgo kit increases the line pressure and like SN95stangman said, increased clutch life. those very slow delayed shifts kills the clutches.

normal soft acceleration and the shifts are nice and tight and instant. with more throttle 1-2 chirps really nice.
