Hey guys,
Whats the best way to attach a shifter boot to the console bezel? The boot did not come with holes pre-stamped.

Thanks.

You should be able to use the little posts on the bottom of the bezel or the old boot as a pattern to punch holes in the new boot then slide the clips over the posts.

Thanks Saleen, so the bezel posts do slide through the boot into the console.

The bezel posts slide through the boot, but they don't go into the console. There are some small rectangular clips (also called flat nuts) that slide on after the boot that keep the boot fastened to the bezel.

There are two sets of clips on the bottom of the bezel. There are small ones that the boot is supposed to be attached to. These are located nearest the hole where the boot goes through. The mounting tabs located around the outside of the bezel the boot does not touch.

Personally I just removed the original boot mounting tabs, pulled mine through and used heavy duty tape. You will never see the tape, and if you want it to be slightly more sealed up, toss some adhesive on there as well.

Sounds ghetto rigged, but works perfect, looks perfect, and saved me time and energy.

Thanks guys. I only remember seeing the mounting tabs on the outside of the bezel, not the smaller ones for the boot. Both the bezel and boot are from 5.0 resto.

The aftermarket bezels might not have them... I lie the adhere/tape idea.
