shifter nob removal???

i know this seems like a silly question but i wanted to take off the stock knob on my wife 04 gt 5 speed and replace it with a mach 1 nob of the same year.

it seems to be locked on but i don't know how to unlock it.
any tips???

If its the stock knob, you just have to twist it off counterclockwise. If its never been off, it could be stuck pretty good. Maybe previous owner put some type of threadlocker on it,

Ya, concur with above, give it hearty twist!

just use your muscles.. A LOT. i doubt there thread lock on it. YOu just need to muscle it off

i was just a little worred about breaking something on the car a week after we got it.
measure twice and cut once if you know what i mean
