Hi guys recently picked up a '89 GT. 5.0, auto. The problem I'm having is that someone installed a B&M Hammer shifter and didn't finish hooking everything up. The Neutral Safety Switch isn't hooked up and the back up lights. The switchs on the shifter are there but no wires. I was told the wires for the stock shifter where in the center console already, I can't find them. Can anybody help me out? Location and wire colors would be helpful. Thanks

You'll have to remove your driver side seat and pull the carpet back to access the wires. They come from the area below the radio and run under the carpet along the driver side of the tunnel and then through a grommet to the driver side of the tranny to a round clip that used to be plugged into the aod. You can see this grommet from the underside if you look for it. As for the colors of the wires, yours will be different from my year so I can't help you. I suggest getting a wire schematic for your year and it should be easy for you to get the switches wired up correctly.

Remove center console and found the wires coming from the trans tunnel. They go to the mirror switch/ lighter and the others are wired to the light in the gear selector. Not sure that plug is correct. It has 4 wires going into it and two coming out. Its a oval shaped two prong plug. Any help??
