After a friend of mine and I spent 9 hours putting these in it was well worth the work. God I love these things! The sound is just awesome at idle. One problem though the car needs a tune extremely bad. It runs extremely rich at idle and without bumping up the idle a little it wanted to die at every light. So Kris and I put a nut on the throttle body stop screw to keep it idled up a little more until I can get everything installed and afford the tune. First impression on test drive is above 3K the car is a totally different car. I can't wait to get everything installed and tuned so I can go back to the track.

Next up to install:

PI Intake, Hopefully a Trickflow Upper, HPM Panhard, Megabite Jr. Lowers.

I am going to try and get some sound clips for everyone sometime this week. I am still sore from bending over the car for 9 hours. I will make sure to post the clip ASAP. Also I got lucky and found these used on ebay for $300 shipped so they were definitely well worth the money!

Do you plan to have any dyno's done? I would like to see what kinda numbers your gaining up top. Does it feel like you lost any torque on the bottom?

Since the car needs to be tuned badly I probably won't be doing any dyno pulls until I am finish putting everything on and ready to have it tuned. Plus with it running as rich as it is right now I wouldn't be able to get anyone good numbers on the setup as is. I dyno'd 208.3 rwhq and 280.2 rwtq and before the tune is done I will have added the following:

PI Intake, SHM 2730 Cams, Trick Flow Upper Intake, FRPP Aluminum D/S, FRPP 3.73 gears (so I can have the speedo calibrated), Steeda Pullies along with everything else in my sig.

Awesome Lee! Can't wait to hear it.

And now that you know, I know who to call when it comes time to install a set on MY car.

So describe the feeling through the powerband.

Honestly even with the tune not right at all it just screams from about 2250-2500 until about 5600. Scotty, come out friday or sat. night this weekend and I will be out. I have a HPM Severe Duty Panhard Kit and HPM Megabite Jr's on the way also. I was sitting next to a TransAm at a light yesterday on the way to work and he was looking at the car going WTF, I tried to get him to play but no dice!

Very cool Lee. I'm going to do some more research on VT's NA cams....regarding installation and what not. But right now, brake pads and plugs are priority.

I don't know. I know a few guys running the 2730 cams with blowers and they love them.

Honestly the install was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be it is just very time consuming. The have a very nice lope to them and yes they can be used with a blower.

I will try and get some sound clips up this weekend.

I didn't have to change the springs because the lift is not close to .550. Here are the specs on mine:

2730 Street Performance, Mild race. Duration @ .050 230/230 Lift .500/.500 LSA 114. . 3.27-3.73 gears. Direct replacement for 92-98 SOHC. RPM range 1500-6000 with no valvetrain modifications.

If you want to know if they are smog legal you need to call sean hyland and ask them. I have no idea. I run a off-road H and I passed emissions.
