Right now my mach 1 still has the factory original shocks (yes the ones it came with in 1970). Trying to figure out what the best replacement would be....

Car has all stock springs, bushings, sways, etc.

Bilsteins?

Not real wild about KYBs.... Car will just be a driver.

If its just a driver, whats wrong with KYB? I have KYB gas adjust on mine. I like them. I think for the price you can't beat them. You could also get GR2 for a softer ride.

I would like Bilstein shocks on my car too, but they are kind of expensive. I'm pretty sure if you get them you won't be disappointed. Everyone that I have seen that had them really likes them.

You're considering Bilsteins over KYB because the car will be "just a driver"? I think you have that backwards. The Gas-A-Just is an excellent performance daily driver shock, that's what I have on mine. If you want a more "boulevard" ride, the KYB GR2 is what you want.

In my past experience KYBs were really stiff, and didn't last that long - but maybe thats just me...

Has anyone put konis on an otherwise stock car? Like them? Worth it?

I had Konis on my 66 for 10 years, and they were fine on the smooth roads of FL, but they were way too harsh for PA. I've had KYB since then, and they are much easier to live with.

By the way callys, if you still have the OE shocks on you 69, DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY!
