Hey guys, as the title suggests i'm looking for new shocks/struts. 14 years on the stockers and the ride has deteriorated to worse than my jeep 4x4....does anyone have any recommendations on decent shocks/struts at an affordable price? I don't wanna cheap out, but i cant afford to drop $500 either. My quad shocks are kyb and only about 1.5 yrs old, so theyre usable. Car is mostly a weekend cruiser but the local track just reopened and i might do a few runs this spring. Stock ride height now, but an eibach pro kit is in my near future. Thanks for any suggestions.

Stock replacements work fine. You could also try and get your hands on a set of Mach 1 or Bullitt take offs. I have had the strange 10-ways and they were ok but the knobs got stuck on them and hard to turn.

Heading to 75/80? We should meet up.

Here's some good ones I've had experience with and some #s I found for ya...

KYB GR2s- arent bad, non adjustable...had em on my Camaro $233.14/set from Summit

KYB AGXs-better-adjustable-was gonna get these before I got a deal on my Tokicos $425.80 from Summit

Tokico Illuminas white- great- 5 way adjustable- got em on my stang and love em! $567.80 from Steeda $497.40 from Atomic Performance -these are the best shocks short of race Bilsteins/Konis that I've ever used

If you look around, maybe go to some swap meets (Fun Ford Weekend is a good one) you might get a deal. I "stole" my Tokicos for $275 for the set of 4! :jaw: I never realized how expensive they were till just now....

The biggest advice I can give you is WAIT TILL YOU DROP THE CAR!!! to buy shocks/struts. If you wait, you'll wanna get the shocks/struts made for a Fox-body (79-93). They are about 1" shorter than the ones for our cars and work great for a lowered car, but won't work for a non-lowered car.

I got bullitt springs and just got some bullitt stock replacement shocks/struts. You can get all 4 from $160-210-ish. If you have the springs for a set of matched shocks/struts that is not bad...and why I went that route since they also lower the car around 3/4-1in.
