I'm sure this will be flamed, but since I hear so many bad things of indy mustang and 90% have no personal experience, I'm going to speak of my own experience with a shop... The Mustang Shoppe in San Diego. I am not making any accusations, just some facts of an experience I had with them before my engine quit on me... (which they said was a very solid engine)
now if you want to talk about a horrible rip off, try the mustang shoppe in San Diego. Tok my car there to get it checked out when I bought my mustang, my mechanic was out of town and wanted to know how solid it was right when I got it. they told me that the tranny was leaking and most likely had to be replaced, I know the tranny resevoir was full the day before and the undercarriage was perfectly clean 2 days before. when I got it back from them, they said it was leaking, the undercarriage was covered in fluid. Trusting them, I took it straight to a transmission shop for a quote, they popped open the hood and after paying $80 to the mustang shoppe to check out the car, they let me leave with no tranny fluid, it was so low it didn't register on the dipstick. The guy at the transmission shop is a buddy so he filled it up, sprayed off the suspiciously clean fluid from the undercarriage and told me to check everyday and if it went down 1/8 of an inch to bring it in and they would see where it was leaking from. I have been driving it for some time(4 months) and every two weeks, I take it over to him and I have abused that transmission at times trying to impress women. not one drip. not a single one. just wanted people in san diego to know my experience with the mustang shoppe in san diego. I have not made any accusations, just layed out the 100% true facts. and I'm sure I'll recieve some flaming from the SD mustang club (members own the shoppe). Wow, it feels good to vent. and OMG it's a personal experience, not someone talking crap because of boredom...
