short belt???

hey I seen a pic in a mustang book of mine that showed a picture of a guy that ran a short belt around the alternator and the crank and water pump and over the tensioner back to the alternator looked like the tensioners tension was going the other way. how would you do that. special tensioner???
by the way it was this guy named Lee Rutter i think he used to race mustangs alot

you reverse the tensioner. you should do a search, its been posted how to do it. its not that hard, you take it apart, drill a new hole, and flip the spring over. to know where exactly to drill, do a search. I would not recommend this though, it didnt work for me, the tensioner just was not strong enough to tension the belt enough with my 3G this way. when my electric fan would turn on (or use a/c controls) the belt would tighten up and SQUEAK REALLY (slipping) loudly and the alt would not charge, even though the tensioner was still within range. maybe it'll work for you i dunno, it didnt for me so i cant recommend it.

has anyone done this and the belt didnt squeal.I just really want to use it like that at the track.
