just installed the steeda tri-ax = sweet! I love it!

however, one of the biggest differences between the shifters is the rubber . . . uh, thing at the base of the shifter. it gives the stock shifter a rubbery, cushy, soft feeling that the steeda doesnt have. when this. . . thing (I think its the inner boot . . . I dunno what its called!) is eliminated, you hear lotsa gear noise, anyone put this thing back in?

Does anyone else mind the gearnoise as much as me?

I put it back on for a while but it just got tore up and interfered with shifting so I took it out again. It has been mentioned that you can get gaskets for the triax that will help cut down the noise but I have not put mine on yet so I can't tell you for sure.
