hey guys. i just put in a short throw shifter last week and wanted to say it is awsome. i didnt know how good it was goin to be and not i love it. if anyone was thinkin bout puttin one in you definatly should. it is so much better, easier, and quicker workin the shift now.

Did you install it yourself. What did it cost you and who did you purchase it from. I am looking into doing as well.

Get a MGW they are such nice shifters and feel great

$179 from www.mgwltd.com I live in canada and it was like 20 bucks to ship it to me.

I'll vouch for the MGW as well. I put it in mine a little over a week ago. It's a very solid shifter... built extremely well.

And while you are there, it would be easy to change the tranny fluid. I highly suggest it when doing a shifter install. Lots easier than trying to pump it in.

True good idea just the the top fill plug bolt out so you know when it's full. I think the T-5 holds 2.8 quarts or 2.6 litres

ya i think it was mgw my bro got it for me so i am not sure. we installed it ourselves. the intrusctions guide you threw it perfectly and the results are amazing. i think he paid around 200 after shipping. it was worth it

you would know if it was a MGW they look totally different from all others

They also say MGW on the shifter base.

I have always wondered about this subject. Why change to this? Give me the benefits for a daily driver.

I can only speak for myself but I basically put one on because I was bored and wanted to do a mod that I wouldn't have problems installing. It's a completely different feel than stock, but as a daily driver (95% highway for me) it doesn't really make a difference.

To sum it up, I just did it for the heck of it!

I am afraid that this mod would be the same for me. 40 miles 1 way to work 25 of that on I-65 and the rest on HWY-245 (2 lane 65 mph 1 light)

I loved my Pro5.0 short throw shifter, for a manual it is a great mod to make driving fun.

I have a Steeda Tri Ax shifter and I am very happy with it.
Any aftermarket shifter is better than stock.

even a shifter made out of a milk carton with cooked egg white's and a widdle'd piece of wood from uncle Jessie Duke would be a better shifter than a wet noodle stock one.
