Well, I guess I have no choice but go with shorties, due to e-check. here in NY isn't too hard to pass without cat, as I do that now, but where I'm moving to in few month(Lorain County, OH) have E-check and sniffer test, visual test etc..
ow, I know choices of shorties are FRPP, JBA, and BBK.
I have heard that FRPP one isn't worth the money. JBA one is the way to go if i muct go with shorties. But how about BBK Shortie that supposed to come out? does anyone have info on it? it is not listed on BBK site

i just had jba headers put on last week and i am happy with them,my brother has ordered the bbk headers from jegs like a month ago and still has not received them he called them and was told that they are on backorder.so if you are wanting bbk headers be prepared to wait a while.

i am very pleased with the jba headers,as far as sound goes it made the car sound a little more mellow.i can tell the car breaths better.all you got to do is look at the stock headers to see the differance

sound is mainly going to come from you midpipe catback setup. I have heard mixed reports on the jba. in hotrod they got like 9hp. Some of the more race oriented crowd have said they did not see squat at the track. if the jba were cheaper it would be a no brainer. basically the ford headers proably good for 2-3hp cost $250-300. the jba probably good for 5-7hp cost $500-650 depending on coating. so you can se the jba are better for power but cost more as well.

This is why I don't ahve headers yet I can't find a set that makes me go hell yeah. I am waiting to see what the jba midlenghts do.

HEY!!! where are you moving to in Lorain County? i live in Elyria. i also have JBA headers. i can't complain. they made the exhaust sound a little deeper and a little louder. i gained .2 and 1.5mph with them, but i'm not sure how accurate that is because i have a s/c and replaced my shortblock at the same time.

NO CROP! Elyria is where I'm going! My mother lives in just off East Broad Street, which is of State 20 right off of OH10. So i'll be near there. not yet find place to live tho. Small town - next time I'm up, we should hook up

Why is that? BBK hasn't sold a single set yet, to my knowledge. I've been keeping my eyes open for some news about these headers, myself, because they look promising, but there's zero real-world evidence yet that I've seen that these headers are going to be better or worse than what's currently available.

From what I understand, they aren't really a shortie per-say, but more like unequal length tuned header. And i think was MM&FF stated that BBK in house dyno shows decent gain on both power&torque. Not in LT territory, but better then usual shortie gain.
Now, as far as I'm concered, BBK in-house dyno numbers means pooo to me, but we already know from countless people that FRPP shroties are worth about 3hp~5hp at the best. And JBA is what? May be about 7hp? Soooo if BBK shories is better then JBA,then that cool. But if it turned out to be only good for about say 6hp, then to me is still better then FRPP shortie that is same price(i think they are both $299, although I think you can get FRPP for like $200 these days) that is provento be only good for 3hp~5hp.
Good thing about being new is that it may not make any power, but then it might!

If you run nitrous-do shorties come in handy? Like LT's and shorties with a blower show the same gains, but are totally different N/A. Will they benefit nitrous?

just because a website says they have a part does not mean it is in stock. I don't think you will find one person with the bbk's yet. jegs has them on the site but the people who oredered them were just notified the part is backordered.
