You're not going to see much difference, you'd need longtube headers to notice a difference in power.

JBA shorties have been dyno'd to give about 9 rwhp. LTs give more, but the JBAs will produce almost as much as LTs on S/C'd applications. Shorties aren't as much of a waste as alot of people will tell you.

On N/A cars they are pretty worthless. JBA shorties won't dyno 9 rwhp on an N/A car. Maybe a supercharged car, but not N/A.

shorties will give you 5-7rwhp, LT wil give you 10-14rwhp on an n/a application. someone dynoed it a while ago. the car had pullies, t/a, catback, and a catted h-pipe. i had the dyno saved, but my hard drive went out

edit: they dynoed it stock, then dynoed with the shorties and then with the LTs. if anyone has this or knows were to find it let me know i think it was a couple years ago.

LT's are the only way to go if your gonna swap out your headers, dont waste your money on the shorties, id rather keep the stock headers instead of waisting money on shorty headers

Beleive what you want. I've seen dynos posted here, on corral, and in Hot Rod mag (roughly 5 months ago?). Most people hear 'shorties' and they think about FRPP shorties which are good for like 3 rwhp at best. Not a good design. The JBAs are much higher quality, sounds like the new BBKs will be as well.

Seeing how we're coming up on mid-January here, anyone heard news on BBK's new equal-length shorty headers? Last I heard, Jegs or Summit (forget) were supposed to have them in sometime this month. Curious as to what kind of numbers they'll put out.

I recall Dynomax had shorties, but I believe they stopped producing them. I hope the BBKs actually come out soon, gains are good, and they're 50 state legal.

There is a blurb in 5.0 about the new BBK shorts and BBK claims some nice gains with them. They appear to be made well so we will see what the real world gains are when the are released.

I'm interested in this also. Hopefully, excellent quality and design will be part of the picture for these BBKs. I'm sticking with my catted X for a long while.
