Anyone have any experience installing shorty headers on a GT. Any extreme difficulties? Is it a half day job or a weekend project? Thanks for any help!

Yes..I would say half day job, I didn't lift the motor or take off the starter. I did drop the cats be careful with the top o2's kind of hard to get at to unplug you need small hands. getting to the bolts by the motor mounts are the hardest I used a 1/4 drive and a elbow and just took my time you have to disconnect the steering as well just make sure you mark it so you can align it. the hardest part for me was getting ride of a couple leaks at the flanges both sides have to be tightened the same. I would looking back get different header bolts then the ones I got with my ford racing and think this summer I might change them to the Ford locking type. Didn't notice a lot of change, sound was a little better and maybe a little torque buts that it I haven't had a dyno as I'm not done hehe..If you need anything else just let me know.. Mark

Thanks for the input. I put them on a F150 and it was a pain. Just wondering if the tight engine compartment made it too much of a pain to mess with.

Shorty headers are only good for 3HP gain at the very best. Not worth the time and expense in most peoples opinion.
