Seriously? I would not want to see what your AFR looks like at WOT with long tubes and no tune.
Damn near everything on these cars requires a tune.

As others have said shorties move your hp and torque band around abit. The reason to get headers are to add a greater benifit from other mods, like a supercharger, big gains to be had from headers, short or long in a force fed application. If your adding headers for sound, get louder muffler. Less expensive and your knuckles and wallet will thank you.

If your just looking for a great sound - I have Pypes shorties and an off road H pipe w/cherry bombs (like 40 flows) mufflers - and it sounds badd ass to me ...but b/c my wife wouldn't ride in it at all ....I switched it back to the stock h pipe w/the cats and holly molly it sounded almost stock ?!??....and I have mutha thumpers ?/...which you could not hear at all....so needless to say ...the off road H pipe was put back on.....I'm just thinking - leave the factory shorties ...Buy an off road H pipe - and have some mufflers welded in ....you'll get a great sound for pennies.....
